Drinks- Charlotte beers are downright out of control. There are still some spots with reasonably priced drinks. Unfortunately, Salad is not one. The hazy I had was good but I dont remember the name of the beer. The main reason being I dont plan on visiting again. Its was a high ABV beer but with a tip it was almost $9 for a 10oz pour. This is just hard to justify, especially with plenty of places to drink within a stones throw.
Food- We did not eat as the wait for the kitchen was 45 minutes. It was not very full so I can't imagine how backed up it could get when at capacity. I would like to go back and try the food, but the beer prices are so expensive I really don't know if I will try it again. I dont mind waiting on food, but Im not going to drink such high priced beers while waiting for so long.
Vibe- The vibe is great. They had an FC game on with Charlotte soccer fans in attendance. I was there early but they had a legit DJ booth and they started to move tables in the middle of the floor as the sun was going down. We left to go elsewhere for food, but it looked as if the party was about to get started. They have plenty of seating. It is setup, "library/bookstore style," where all the seating is different and arranged in intimate sections. Some areas had sofas and chairs, others had large picnic tables and everything in between.
Parking- NoDa parking can be a cluster. Saturday evening was not so bad, but randomly on any given night parking can get thin. However, with some searching you can usually find parking in a few minutes. You may just have to do a couple of laps around the neighborhood.
Recommendation- If you live within walking distance, try it. If you are with a group who want to go, don't be a buzzkill, try it. If your company is paying, try it. If you just need something to do, try it. I wouldn't go out of my way to go here but if one of these scenarios or one similar arises, give it a try. You just might love it! HOY SE BEBE.
